We have emailed our members a set of papers which review the year and look forward to next year. In summary, we have had a good year with:
* an improved financial situation, replacing a deficit of previous years with a small profit;
* consolidated our teams events with the Super 60s and 70s, and introduced a new Super 50s event;
* recorded record attendance at some of our Masters events and established our Masters circuit as the largest and most successful individual tournament circuit in the country, and one of the biggest veteran circuits in the world;
* continued to grow our volunteer workforce who do a magnificent job in organising our events and running our Society;
* continued to grow our membership;
* developed new partnerships with independent tournament organisers to provide a series of localised ratings tournaments to feed into our rankings list;
* continued to develop and enhance our own ranking list;
* had representation on national and international committees to ensure the VETTS voice is heard at home and abroad;
* participated fully in international tournaments and registered many podium successes;
* continued to stay loyal to our founding principles of independence; competition and friendship.
My sincere thanks to all our network of volunteers for making this happen and to our players who continue to support the VETTS.
I would make one request to our members at this point. There are many other areas we would like to develop for the VETTS, such as income generation, sponsorship opportunities, live streaming of games, a YouTube channel. However, none of these can happen without volunteers stepping forward to give of their time and expertise. If you can help in these, or any other areas, please contact me.
