The first part of the tournament, the Friday and Saturday morning, is a team event in age categories between selected representative teams from VETTS England; Wales; Scotland; Ireland; Isle of Man; Guernsey; and Jersey.
Saturday afternoon and Sunday are the individual singles and doubles Home Nation Championships between players from the Home Nation teams and other nominated players from within the Home Nations.
There is a restriction on the number of players who can enter the singles and doubles event, not least because of our limit of 21 tables as well as time constraints on the Sunday programme.
Also, this is *not* a VETTS event like one of our Masters, so we have to abide by the regulations of the collective Home Nations Committee of delegates. This year it is just our turn to host it in accordance with the existing regulations.
The representative teams have already been selected. In order to enter the singles and doubles events under the VETTS England authority, you need to be a member of the VETTS, eligible to play for an English county, and not represented another nation in the past three years. If you are outside this criteria, you may still be able to enter via your own representative Home Nation.
The VETTS then need to authorise your entry in accordance with the Home Nations regulations.
If anyone from the VETTS wishes to enter the singles and doubles (age categories O/40 (Men & Womens), O/50s (M&W), O/60s(M&W), O/70s (Open), O/75s (Open); - singles in your age category and doubles, according to age of youngest player), please apply via entry through the Tournament Software System as usual. We will then authorise your entry and your name will appear on the players' list. If for any reason, we cannot authorise it, your entry fee will be refunded.
The cost is £30 per player for the singles and doubles. Consolation events are unlikely to take place. We'll keep the entry open for as long as possible, but it could close quickly if numbers are reached.
