2. Players should now have received an email from our Tournament Referee, Cliff Bell. If you are playing at 8.30 or 8.45am, the score sheet, pen and ball will be on the table waiting for you, so you can start your group. We will also call out names and tables. The number of the table you are playing on is on the email you have received if you are in these early groups. If players are missing but you have enough to start and umpire, please do so, do not wait for the missing player to turn up. (Any late players will be directed to their tables - if possible).
The first 13 groups on Saturday will start at 08:30hrs, the second 12 groups will start at 08:45, but please allow plenty of time to book in.
3. This is a very tight schedule. We have 234 entrants on 25 tables and a lot of matches to play. It would help keep on time if you can:
a) Book in at least 15 minutes before your first playing time;
b) For second round matches and beyond, you could be called 30 mins early, so please be ready to play.
4. Keeping on schedule is often dependent on having umpires available. It is a condition of entry that all losing players umpire when requested. We are very grateful to those individuals who do much more than their fair share of umpiring during the weekend. It keep everything flowing. When a group is completed, please return the clipboard, pen and match ball to the control area. For a K/O match, it's the responsibility of the losing player to return the clipboard, pen and match ball to the control area and take the next available match to be scored.
5. On Saturday the first four x two hour time slots will be taken up by singles groups, The doubles are scheduled to start at 17:00 hrs with a scheduled finishing time of 19:30.
6. Please check that your scores have been entered correctly on the score sheet, before returning it to the control table.
7. We always need help setting up on the Friday evening (from about 6pm - I'll confirm time later). Fortunately, the venue is just across the road from the main hotel so please pop across and help us set up. You don't have to do the heavy lifting, if you can just put up some nets etc it spreads the workload.
8. Any donations of raffle prizes are gratefully received. All proceeds go back into VETTS funds and helps us keep the costs of events down.
As always, thanks to our Tournament Referee, Cliff Bell, who does so much behind the scenes as well as on the day - and a big thanks to our control table and Promotion Stand volunteers who make it all happen on the day.
Hope you all have a great weekend - see you there.
