I would like to make an important personal announcement. After serving as the VETTS Chairman for 8 years, plus 1 year as acting Chairman, I have decided to stand down. As the saying goes, I am not getting any younger. So, at this year’s AGM you will have the opportunity to vote for a new Chairman.
I am delighted to report that our Deputy Chairman, Susie Venner is prepared to stand. This is wonderful and reassuring news for me. Susie shares my passion for the VETTS. She believes in the fundamental principles of our Society, and the importance of collaboration across, and communication with you, our members. We have worked so well together over the years, and as Deputy Chair she thoroughly understands and appreciates what’s involved in the role.
As is always the case, anyone can be proposed and you will decide who should be elected, but as the outgoing Chairman I can relax knowing that at least one candidate is exceptional. I will stay on the Committee to help with the transition.
